CsI Detectors

NIMROD consists of 156 CsI detectors. There are 12 CsI detectors per ring with the exception of rings 7, 9, 10 and 11, which have 18. Ring 2, 4, 9 and 10/11 have 1924 PMTs. The other rings (3, 5, 6/7 and 8) have 1355 PMTs (no longer in production).

Originally, NIMROD was outfitted with passive bases. In 2012, active bases were added.
