Exotic cluster structure in light nuclei

Exotic cluster structure of light nuclei is discussed. Linear chain configuration of four alpha clusters can be stabilized by giving large angular momenta to the system, and there exists a window of the rotational frequency, where such structure becomes stable.  Adding neutrons is another way to stabilize such exotic structure and we discuss the cluster states in the excited states of neutron-rich nuclei especially in the C isotopes.  Finally gas-like states of alpha clusters is discussed.  Not only C and O but also such structure in heavier nuclei (Mg, Si, etc.) is investigated.
